Spring Creek. Previous nights rain raised the water levels and colored the water.
Still, a great stream to fish. Unfortunately this was Memorial day and more fishermen would be in competition for some of the favored fishing spots.
But, all was not lost. I managed to catch my share. Unfortunately, Mike had to work today.
Another shot of Spring.
And another fish. Spring Creek is not stocked and aside from a few fish that migrate from Bald Eagle, all these fish are stream bred.
They are pretty and not as easy to fool as the stocked ones.
Again on Spring. This hole is noted for holding a few fish. I visited this spot last visit and I can confirm that it's a good place to hit.
Fishing off the wall is porfitable too. This one was taken at that location.
Here is where that last fish was living. As are many more but the slower water give the fish a long time to look at your offering....and refuse it!
Although not all fish fail to bite. But we didn't catch as many this trip as we did last.
Last trip Mike pulled one hiding tight against the wood on the far side of the stream. Who says you don't have to make long casts?
I got this one at the wall too.
The following day we went to Black Moshannon. No bugs on the surface and no fish rising so, as you can see by the bobber (indicator) I went under to catch this…
Both Mike and I pulled a good number of fish from this location. Yes, the wood did pose a problem but the fish seem to like it.
Getting under the log was an issue but not impossible.
As shown here, this fish was living under the last log.
Better shot of the same spot. That last fish was living just under but on the other side of the log on the far side of the stream.
Where there's one, there's usually more. I seemed to be hitting rainbows while Mike was catching browns.
But, I got a brown every once in a while too!
This was a nice heavy fish. And he put up a respectable fight too.
